Dev Diary #4: Priorities

Hi everyone! We are back for a new Dev Diary (that in hindsight we realize had a broken link). Last week we spoke about our approach to partners and we are very happy with the partnerships reached so far (and those in the planning!).

Reaching such agreements and seeing them work out with people signing up for events and other (potential) partners reaching out is absolutely heartwarming and motivating for the team to work on Atlantic Forum. For us it is proof that initatives such as Atlantic Forum has a raison d'etre.

At the same time also brings in the danger of straying away from the roadmap. I'll have to admit that working on projects is much more fun then the organizational aspects; the writing of funding applications or working on the website (luckily we have a fantastic website builder for most of the tricky work!). We still have a long road to go up to September, and by no means are we half way that track. We realized we need to stick to the roadmap and not get distracted by more exciting one-off projects and strike a balance between doing new things; and making sure we can do those exciting new things again next year.

That being said we used momentum to make a few alternations to the roadmap. We moved the call for an editor of Atlantica and a Community manager from Phase 2 to Phase 1. The first on request off NATO, with the first publication coming online September 1 2019 instead of January 1 2020, the second seeing that many of our new patrons have many interesting publications to their name, and we felt it would be a shame not to republish these. Addtionally, on the side, we will also start working on the high school program earlier; with a pilot starting in early 2020, rather then the launch of the project on the 4th of April next year.

Check back on May 27th as we talk about the upcoming "Launch" in Europel!
